You'll have to practise it manually past going to music.google.com. From in that location, and observe the private albums with incorrect art and click on "edit album info." hover over the album fine art and you'll see an choice to change it.
Make certain y'all have the art saved to your computer first. The alter option volition prompt y'all to select a file from your calculator.

It's a pain and very time consuming. I've too read on the interwebs that Google play music is getting a match feature quondam in the near future that will scan your music collection and auto add together the songs to your account. I'm not sure if or when that might launch.

Best way to go nigh it is to have all your music properly tagged and with their album art before uploading to Google Play Music. I take about 5,000 songs in my Google Play Library and I've only experienced a couple of pocket-size inconsistencies with some album fine art. Nothing mayor.

Were your tags correct? Was the correct vocal info and album art embedded to each and every music file?

Aye whatever music player other than the stock Android player (N7, music match, etc) seem to screw up the album art. I had one,000 songs painstakingly tagged and it still wanted to "fix" them so I let it. Information technology got nigh 50% wrong, ridiculous. I deleted the players and went back to the stock player and all is well. It did not modify my correctly tagged songs permanently, give thanks god...

fifty-fifty with the google match i nevertheless am getting errors...this is and then freakin annoying.
I have albums I purchased from Amazon every bit MP3 so they were tagged correctly and Google is splitting them in to 2-3 albums and no cover art..
where as in my amazon actor all is absurd. For example: I have The essential Jimi hendrix cd vol 1& 2 (1979) and google puts it in as a 2010 release 'Valley of Neptune'. I think they come across the song find when it was released and just throw it up there. and no I am not going through my 5000 songs to go far right isn't that why we have this service to brainstorm with..make our life easier..stupid internet

I'one thousand having a different kind of consequence. I'chiliad not concerned so much with album art but instead it's splitting albums into two. Information technology duplicates albums but is then separating it so that one-half the tracks are in one album and the other tracks are in the indistinguishable. I tin't seem to get them to merge back.

You'll have to practice it manually past going to music.google.com.

This website isn't available to Canadians. Anyone know of an on-telephone solution to irresolute album art?

I've had the aforementioned outcome. However, I've been able to fix it by correcting the "Album Creative person" tag that seemed to become altered during upload. (I guess Google was pulling the track from its library?!) Having two songs, from the same album, but with dissimilar "Album Artist"s resulted in the songs actualization in 2 different albums (only otherwise with the same proper name, album art, etc.)

This was peculiarly noticeable on compilation ("Diverse" or "Diverse Artists") albums. On my original mp3 file the "Album Creative person" tag had the value "Various Artists" (every bit created when the track was ripped). Notwithstanding, during upload some tracks resulted in the "Album Creative person" field beingness deleted - these tracks and so got moved to an album that but had the creative person "Diverse" (as opposed to "Diverse Artists"). Calculation "Diverse Artists" to the tracks where the "Anthology Artist" was empty resolved this (which you lot tin do quite quickly by selected all tracks in the erroneous album). Or, in this instance, you could exercise it the other style and remove the "Album Artist" from those tracks where it was still present.

I exercise not ain an Android device, but when information technology comes to other "tag-sorting" portable music players, a free utility called taghycardia e'er helps me a lot. I simply run all my mp3 downloads through information technology before putting the music on a device. The program fixes wrong or missing tags, and downloads/embeds album art whenever it is absent, all of this automatically or in a semi-auto mode. As stated on its site, it is specifically written to ensure the accessibility of mp3 albums (and compilations) on music playing devices that sort tracks by their tags.

Slightly unlike but like problem. I spent inordinate time tagging and adding art. Yet some albums prove no art in google music. There doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason. The artwork shows up fine in when i look at the files in windows file browsing and in media monkey. Every forum most album art issues has the same "solution" - edit the tag in google play. This is worthless advice. When tags testify upward properly in other apps, what is the point in having to re-tag things.

Yet every few dozen albums are blank and when i go and edit tags on my estimator, making SURE i become everything correct (inluding embedding the fine art in the tag), I then delete the album in google and upload information technology again from scratch. Merely the only affair that works is going through the google album editor and manually selecting the artwork.

Tagging has been a headache in all apps since day one. As well many standards, non enough consistency, not powerful enough group editing. I'grand getting actually sick of every unmarried new music app I apply having a NEW prepare of issues with tagging.

Theories: (untested and wonder if anyone knows)
    1) file format for the artwork? I apply jpeg whenever i tin can though a few png files may accept snuck in. Although when i re-upload trouble albums I make sure to use jpg. Is google super sensitive to file format? When i manually select the artwork via google music, i am choosing the same artwork that i originally tag with only google may exist converting the file as it uploads, thus explaining why it works that way and non when you edit on the dwelling computer. Various fine-grain differences in jpeg formatting is my all-time guess for this intensely annoying issue.

    2) art file size too big? For some albums I get out of my mode to cull larger high res art to tag with, maybe google doesn't like larger filesizes? Again, when i manually pick the Same large artwork via google, it works, merely again google might be converting the paradigm as information technology uploads.

three) fine grain formatting differences in mp3 or other files? Even though my 'trouble' albums are in mp3 format, tiny encoding differences may crusade issues.

Also, I just wish when something goes wrong that a simple error message would popular up "How-do-you-do, this is google, your album art did not load because blah blah" would be nice. so i could get somewhere solving this.

I had this problem before, and subsequently hours of searching and painstakingly fixing my anthology fine art, it's fixed. Hither is what I did:
    1. i downloaded Tagscanner, there's this vid in youtube where in that location is a link. hither is the video'south url

2.i deleted all my albumthums, you tin can find information technology in sdcard>android>information>media. delete all.
    3. in tagscanner, click browse and select the folder where you have your songs, edit your album fine art, and call up to add a name in the anthology. this is very important considering if you don't put whatever name in the album, it will put random pictures in your album fine art and ignore the album fine art you saved.
    4. save everything.
    5. if there are all the same songs that have the wrong album art, you can change the album fine art, and if the trouble is nevertheless in that location, download another version of the song.
    hope this helps.
