Visa Procedure From Usa to India for My 2 Year Old Baby
Effective on September 6th 2021, passengers residing in the US (US citizens, Green card or visa holder´s) arriving to Spain from the US shall be granted entry provided they show the necessary QR code to the Spanish authorities, obtainable at https://spth.gob.es/and a vaccination card accepted by the Spanish Health Ministry. This regulation does not exempt passengers on a layover at an EU country, prior to their arrival to a Spanish airport, from complying with the entry requisites of the said country, which can be found in their respective websites.
VISA REQUIREMENTS:
WE WILL NOT ACCEPT APLICATIONS FROM OUT OF OUR JURISDICTION (VIRGINIA, MARYLAND, WASHINGTON D.C, WEST VIRGINIA AND NORTH CAROLINA. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE)
Applicants must have permanent or temporary residency status in the USA. B1/B2 holders do not qualify to apply for any type of visa in this Consular Office, they must apply in their country of legal residence. You must apply at the Spanish Consulate that belongs to your jurisdiction.
The visa will be affixed to your passport and must be presented at the Schengen border officials at the port of entry. You can not request the visa in Spain.
-SHORT STAY VISA (SCHENGEN)
-LONG STAY VISA (RESIDENCY)
1. Short Stay Visa (Schengen Visa):
The Visa Office of the Consular Section is open to process short-term visas (Schengen visas) on Mondays and Thursdays from 9AM. - 12PM. Appoinments are not required and you will be attended first come, first served.
The Schengen Agreement establishes a unified type of visa for short stays (up to 90 days) for the participant European countries, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
A Schengen Visa issued by an Embassy or Consulate of the aforementioned countries allows the holder to travel freely throughout all of them. If you intend to visit only one Schengen country, you must apply at the Consulate of that particular country. If you intend to visit several Schengen countries, you must apply at the consulate of your main destination (where you are spending the most days). If you are part of a cruise please note the number of days spent in each port. If you are spending the same amount of days in several countries, you must apply at the consulate of your country of first entry.
US citizens and citizens of other nationalities not included in the list of countries that need visa to cross the Schengen borders can stay up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa.
For a transit airport visa t he holders of the travel documents issued by any of the following countries must be in possession of an airport transit visa to go through any of the Schengen countries : Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Iran, Irak, Nigeria, Pakistán, Somalia y Sri Lanka.
The holders of the travel documents issued by any of the following countries must be in possession of an airport transit visa to go through Spain : : Cameroon, Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Cuba, Djibouti, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, India, Liberia, Mali, Sierra Leone, Syria, Togo, Yemen and those travel documents issued by the Palestinian Authorities.
These nationalities will not need an airport transit visa if the holders are permanent residents in the United States and are in possession of a valid Green Card at the moment of their transit.
-Tourist and business visa-

2. Long stay visas:
These visas will allow you to remain in Spain for longer than 90 days. Once approved and issued you will be able to obtain a residency card once in Spain that will cover your stay there.
B1-B2 visas can not apply for a long stay visa at this Consular Section. They need to return to their country of legal residence and contact our Consulate there.
-Student visa-
We just accept student visa applications by mail ( USPS - United States Postal Services).NO IN PERSON APPLICATIONS. Please, remember that to send the application you must have all the requirements. We do not accept incomplete applications or applications from outside of our jurisdiction (Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, West Virginia and North Carolina).

Once you have your documents ready, you will need to send an email to cog.washington@maec.es with all your documents and request an appointment to drop off your application. This visa will allow you to live in Spain but you will not hold a working permit. Remote workers are NOT eligible for this type of visa. The main requirement is having the funds to move to Spain, not the possibility of making that money throughout the year. You MUST apply in person to your appoinment. -Residence visa to work in Spain as an Employee-

This visa allows a foreigner to work in Spain as an employee.

- Letter from the Immigration Office in Spain ("Extranjería") addressed to the company or employer in Spain notifying of the approval for the working permit and residency visa. (This must be done by the company or employer before your visa's application).
-Federal or State Police Report where the applicant has lived during the past year bearing the "Apostille of the Hague Convention" issued by the office of the Secretary of the State where the report has been issued. We will not accept certificates issued more than 90 days prior to the application date.
- Original medical certificate typed on doctor´s stationary verifying that the applicant is free from any contagious diseases, this certificate must also certify that the applicant is free of drug addictions and mental illness. -Residence Visa to Reunite a Family Member with a Legal Residence in Spain-

The foreigner, who has been a legal resident in Spain for one year and had its residency permit renewed for another year can reunite the following family members:
- Spouse. If they are not legally separated.
- Their children or their spouse's, who are not married and are under 18 years of age or incapacitated and are not married.
- Minors (under 18 years old) or incapacitated that are under his/her legal custody.
- Parents, or from the spouse's, if they are dependents and there are proven reasons for them to justify their need for residency in Spain.

This visa will allow you to cooperate and work with a Spanish institution focused on research and investigation.

The information attached hereunder covers the residence visas created by Law 14/2013, dated 27 September, of support to entrepreneurs and their internationalization. You may find more information in the Law itself (english translation), in this presentation (.pdf) or the brochure (.pdf).

5.Overseas medical insurance:
A. Valid for the duration of the requested visa and all Schengen countries .
B .Must cover all risks expected during the time of stay in the Schengen area, including repatriat

C. Minimum coverage is 30,000 € and repatriation. (Medical insurances connected to credit cards are not accepted).
D. Conditions must be stated either on insurance document or on separate confirmation lette r.
E.The insurance company must be licensed to operate in Spain.
6. Criminal record: F or the past five years issued by the competent authorities of the country (or countries) where the applicant has lived in the five years prior to submission of the application. For applicants who have resided (or currently reside) in the UAE, the criminal record must be dully legalized, translated into Spanish or English and have been issued within three months prior to submission of the application.
7.Payment of the visa fee.

RESIDENCE VISAS FOR CAPITAL INVESTORS
In order to apply for this visa you will need an appointment. Once you have your documents ready, you will need to send an email to cog.washington@maec.es to request an appointment to drop off your application.
These visas require a capital investment of at least to 2 million euros in Spanish bonds or of at least 1 million euros in the acquisition of shares of Spanish companies or deposits of at least 1 million euros in Spanish banks.
The investment has to be carried out a maximum of 60 days before the application is submitted.
The investments are justified:
· In the case of acquisition of shares of non publicly traded companies, a certificate issued by the "Registro de Inversiones Exteriores dl Ministerio de Economía y Competitiv

· In the case of acquisitions of publicly traded companies, certificate of a registered broker.
· In case of a bank deposit, a bank certificate.
In case the visa is approved it will have a period of validity of one year.
RESIDENCE VISAS FOR BUYERS OF REAL ESTATE
In order to apply for this visa you will need an appointment. Once you have your documents ready, you will need to send an email to cog.washington@maec.es to request an appointment to drop off your application.
These visas are available for those who acquire real estate property in Spain worth at least 500.000 euros.
The property must have been purchased a maximum of 90 days before the visa application is submitted.
The investment is accredited by the "certificado de dominio y cargas del Registro de la Propiedad

In case the visa is approved it will have a period of validity of one year.
RESIDENCE VISAS FOR ENTREPRENEURS AND ENTREPRENEURIAL ACTIVITIES
In order to apply for this visa you will need an appointment. Once you have your documents ready, you will need to send an email to cog.washington@maec.es to request an appointment to drop off your application.
These visas are available for those who present a business or entrepreneurial project to be carried out in Spain and which is considered of "general interest".
The project must be presented to the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Dubai (UAE) for evaluation. If the evaluation of the project is positive, a report will be issued which must then be presented together with the visa application in this Embassy.
In case the visa is approved it will have a period of validity of one year.
RESIDENCE VISAS FOR HIGHLY QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS
In order to apply for this visa you will need an appointment. Once you have your documents ready, you will need to send an email to cog.washington@maec.es to request an appointment to drop off your application.
These visas are available for highly qualified professional who are to be engaged by companies in Spain. It is for the company in Spain to request the residence permit through the "Unidad de Grandes Empresas y Colectivos Estratégicos". Once the visa is approved by the "Dirección General de Migraciones", the applicant must submit the application form and all the documents specified in the "common requirements".
In case the visa is approved it will have a period of validity of one year.
RESIDENCE VISAS FOR EDUCATIONAL OR RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
In order to apply for this visa you will need an appointment. Once you have your documents ready, you will need to send an email to cog.washington@maec.es to request an appointment to drop off your application.
These visas are available to those foreigners who intend to carry out in Spain activities in the field of research, academic activities in universities and other tertiary educational institutions and scientific and technical activities in public or private R+D institutions.
In case the visa is approved it will have a period of validity of one year.
RESIDENCE VISAS FOR INTRA-COMPANY MOVES
In order to apply for this visa you will need an appointment. Once you have your documents ready, you will need to send an email to cog.washington@maec.es to request an appointment to drop off your application.
These visas are available for professionals moving within the same company. It is for the company in Spain to request the residence permit through the "Unidad de Grandes Empresas y Colectivos Estratégicos". Once the visa is approved by the "Dirección General de Migraciones", the applicant must submit the application form and all the "common requirements" .
In case the visa is approved it will have a period of validity of one year.
